Hi there,
I spotted these trees growing by the footpath in Essendon.
Does anyone know the variety?

Many council areas will have some sort of "tree planting strategy" document on their web sites listing their policies for planting/removal etc and also a list of what is planted where. If you are really lucky, they will have it organised by tree species and by street! The Adelaide City Council also has a google earth layer, with the position of each tree and associated details.

I third Ficus microcarpa hilli. Looks exactly like it, especially with that grey trunk in the background

Re: Fig Identifiction
You can find these as standards with long trunks and a ball on top. I've airlayered and wired a few with great results
