I'm not 100% sure of the future direction of this tree, but nice little apples..

Root graft is just some crab seedling I had lying around. The good thing about floribunda is that they branch more easily than most but they look a bit inelegant compared to say zumi-calocarpa or transitoria golden raindrops. My biggest problem with crabs is that once they start to fruit they pretty much stop growing. The trick might be to cut back hard each year and remove all the fruiting spurs until you are happy with the shape and ramification, then let it fruit?Sno wrote:Hi Treeman . Nice . Another great tree in the making . Why do you think that floribunda is not the best for bonsai ? I've got a few which are in the development stage so I am keen to hear about your expierances . Are your root grafts the same variety ?
Looks like you have enough fruit to make a jar of crabapple jelly .
