ID plz
A lady brought in a seed off a pine she would have, for years , lunch under. The tree was murdered by a squad of hit men in the name of progress. It was, when people asked "where shall i meet ya", loveingly refered to as "the big weeping pine" I thought it would be nice if she could actually put a name to the orphan.

Re: ID plz
I'll have a vote as a Taxodium of some description. But it needs some love.

Re: ID plz
Have a close look at the leaves. If they are opposite each other it is Metasequoia (Dawn redwood) but if they are random along both sides of the stems that means that Watto has picked it - one of the Taxodium species, probably Taxoduim distichum (swamp cypress)

Re: ID plz
Definitely. Those leaves are clearly alternate in that photo. Every leaf in Dawn redwood is exactly opposite another one.
Swampies will grow with watering like all other species but, as the name suggests, they can cope with a little bit wetter. In really wet soil they will grow 'knees' - breathing roots that grow up out of the water.

Re: ID plz
If he was mowing it was not wet enough to produce the breathing roots. these can be grown as cuttings too but I get quite poor success from mine. Very easy from seed though.
