Black Pine Feeding

Post by Robsterios »

Hello.. Has anyone got advice with regards to specific Pine fertilizer. I have Leong's (Bonsai South) "Pine in the Temporate Climate" book and he advocates a low nitrogen fert. in particular for advanced tree's.
I've been feeding for most of growing season as I have done for years with my standard Powerfeed/Seasol mix, with the addition of Seamungus pellets on occasion. I held off post my early Summer flush of growth and
have been at monthly intervals until now where it's suggested to start feeding again to develop next seasons buds. He does sell "Contact" and is prepared to post but would like to hear any opinions on other options with regards to available products or timing of the feeding.
cheers and here's to a good upcoming Autumn......Rob..
