I don't really see much potential in it at all to be honest, that is if you can even get it off the wall and keep it alive. Sorry mate.

There would be no problem at all getting it of the wall, they can stand a lot of scrutiny, however the question remains what to do with it. Nice tree.

take the ficus off the wall.Cut the leader really short to stimulate growth upwards. That root spread could be trained into very good nebari from which the new leader or leaders can be trained upwards as an informal upright.

Removing the tree will rescue the wall....anything after that is a bonus

For something outside the box think of those temple ruins in S.E. Asian jungles that have figs growing all over them. Perhaps "age " some second hand bricks by knocking the corners off them and chipping them and grow the fig over a small wall or corner of a wall built of the bricks.

Hi Sambow, I would definitely give it a go, here is a Port Jackson that I "rescued" some years ago, after a recent repot and major trim it looks quite good, well worth climbing 5 metres to get it down cheers Peter

if it were a pj I would've given different advice, totally different kettle of fish. I only suggested it probably wasn't worth the time as there is no branching at all near what would become the base. I have bought numerous benjis that had great looking trunks that I thought would make great bonsai and still years later have not become even close to what I had envisaged. I do have a few really nice benjis though also (happy to post pics if anyone is interested) and I really like them as bonsai it just really helps if start with the right material. I'm just of the opinion that you would be better off sourcing decent stock for relatively cheap to start with rather then spending many years trying to turn the mediocre into something great. By all means though give it a shot and prove me wrong, that would be great if you can make something nice from it.

I do have a few really nice benjis though also (happy to post pics if anyone is interested) and I really like them as bonsai it just really helps if start with the right material.

I'll be keen for a look srini, I've got a few I'm playing with also. Mine aren't developing as well as I would like although that could be said about all of my trees Have you got any tips?

hi,Id get it off the wall and root over rock,or big piece of slate,and small cut and slowly bring stem upwards. Big pot big rock,or cliff. is your answer,
