A Ginkgo Tree as Bonsai.
I have had this project for a while and as Ginkgo tree owner knows they are SLOOOOOW. Hard to get leaf size down, if at all, take ages to ramify etc, etc. So you will appreciate how long it took to get movement into the trunkline. They are traditionally styled as a flame but i was looking for something a little more unusual and went for a more elegant look with movement in the trunk. It will take a long time to develop branching and refinement in this tree but i was happy with its colour and how it looked with its new pot.

I really like this tree.
Has it been posted online before?
Nice and graceful movement and the pot really works-
I have had some success with increasing trunk size on gingko by using heavy gauge wire and letting it bite in quite hard. When the trees recovered the scars quickly healed and the trunk was larger and appeared more aged.
People don't seem adventurous enough as you said preferring to make upright styles when it's clear they can have movement added.

That is one beautiful tree! Must be very satisfying to get a result like that. And the autumn colour is magnificent
