Was wondering if any body could help out.
I stumbled upon a huge camellia in a pot about to be thrown into builders bin while out walking.
I had 10 mins to do something before it was being hauled off.
I borrowed a saw from one of the builders and cut down to a stump of about 12 inches and reduced the root ball by about 80% so I could carry it home!
After getting it home, I sealed the cut and planted it in a tomato box with a good azalea/camellia potting mix and gave it a goo water with seasol.
I know the chances of it taking are slim, given how much root was taken out, but hoping someone might have some advice/tips to improve chances of survival.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Re: Help with a camellia
Keep it in the shade for some months and wire into pot so it stops movement whilst new fine roots grow. How big are the flowers as smaller will give better proportion Keep up the seasol alternate days for a fortnight

Re: Help with a camellia
No much you can do now but wait till spring. If you have a warm spot in the garden to keep it over winter then
Else do not over water,
