Re: Choubai
Not really but sometimes it's best to let nature decide on the placement. As Murata said, doing it this way (burying the pieces under the soil and waiting for the shoots to appear, ''transcends technique'' And I agree. When we consciously place things, we are restricted by our own level of imagination and pre-conceived notions.Sno wrote:Hi Mike . Beautiful clump . I like it in both pots . That blue is an amazing color .
Are there benefits to using the rhizome cuttings rather than stem cuttings ?
Cheers Craig

Re: Choubai
I have a few little ones - growing slowly, ever so slowly. Would there be any benefit of putting more and more together for them to fuse up later in the hope of having a thicker trunk? For example...with some exaggeration - say putting a dozen together rather than waiting for suckers to appear.

Sorry Rob I just saw this.Robsterios wrote:I have a few little ones - growing slowly, ever so slowly. Wouldn't hurt to pack them together but I doubt if they will ever fuse. Just remember the ones in the middle will need to have an escape route for the roots or they will get weak.
