This was purchased as a tube stock a few years ago labelled as a Ribbon Gum . Not really sure as google searches are conflicting . It was originally a twin leader however it was damaged during a storm and this is what was salvaged . A new shoot /branch has begun to grow from the damaged site however this has taken a few years . Any suggestions on which direction this native pot plant could /should take ??? before I hack it to pieces .
It reacts well to trimming and leaf reduction can be maintained if regularly snipped .
Cheers . Alpineart

In the last photo I would cut off the bulk of the top on the RHS and use that branch on the LHS as a new leader. At the moment it looks lopsided.

Re: Eucalyptus Viminalis - Ribbon Gum
Hi Mr Bougy Fan , mate i took a look at this last night to see if the trunk could be manipulated /bent . The answer is no , it snapped the top completely off , now it only has 1 shoot and a stub . I guess that why the storm damaged it , very brittle .
Cheers Alpine

Hi Bougy Fan , it wasn't planned that's for sure .Very little to no movement then snapper , I was thinking along the lines of a windswept design with the canopy touching the ground , the idea was there . I will toss it into a plastic pot and put the bonsai pot to better use .
