This is a black spruce and I am not familiar with this species.
It came into my possession via an accident really and I am not sure what I will do with it except fertilize it and water it and spray it if necessary to get it in a healthy state.
It was an old nursery stock that couldn't find a buyer so was given to a mate of mine that goes digging with me, and he gave it to me, so it probably needs some love.
I vaguely recall Ryan Neil working on a similar spruce so I will see if I can find that bit of film and have a look.
It may or may not make a bonsai but it should be fun trying.
