Thanks all, it's all part of the learning experience. I haven't lost any of my more advanced trees, just ones that were growing on, and were slightly out of the spray zone. It had been raining for two weeks when I left, so I didn't take enough care in siting them, it seems. Hubby and son did well in the areas that were set up with sprayers, not so well in the area that needed hand hosing. (I said every two days, but of course that meant if the weather continued as mild as it was when the rain stopped, sadly the 30+ days showed up, but every two day watering continued...) Oh well, I know to put them ALL into spray areas next time!
