Morning and Afternoon Demonstrations on both days by Arthur Robinson, one of Australia's best known Satsuki Azalea Experts,
Satsuki is the name given to a unique group of azaleas. Normal garden azaleas flower in late winter to early spring (July to September). Satsuki flower in mid-spring to early summer (October to
January).
Satsuki have been cultivated in Japan for centuries and are still relatively new to Australia. They are very hardy, which is one of the attributes making them excellent bonsai for beginners to advanced
enthusiasts.
Satsuki flower profusely with a spectacular range of flowers. A single tree can not only have flowers of different colours but also flowers of different shapes.
