Reasons for purchase:
(i) Australian native.
(ii) New tree to me.
(iii) I like the flowers (red spikes with golden anthers, grow only on one side of trunk).
(iv) I thought that a literati would look striking in flower.
(v) I thought that this was a species not previously grown as a bonsai - I was wrong
(vi) Intended size is about 30cm
So far the only work done to the plant is to pot it into a larger pot. The stake is to stop it falling over as a strong wind pretty well knocked it out of the pot.
I am still working on a plan for this one however I just want it to thrive until Christmas and then I will get stuck into it.
