i can appreciate these pots asus,

i have done a pottery workshop or two with lynnett, and it's not as easy as it looks. or at least not for me anyway
but if you get the chance, i would recommend everyone to have a go, i had alot of fun

here are a couple of freeform pots i was playing with, some of you may think they are monsters but i like em.

if anyone knows of anyone in tas that has a kiln that's fired regularly, pls let me know. i wanna do some glazing of some pots...


i jammed rocks into this one to give it a "rocky" surface...

You're getting excellent movement in these pots Aaron...I like 'em!!

To the question of firing....most largish towns (on the main island) have pottery clubs with all the paraphernalia you could want including kilns....I imagine it would be the same on the minor island.

yes, there certainly is a hint of selective dyslexic properties here...

They are terrific pots, Aaron. There are several potters' groups in Tassie and they will fire your pots for you. Regarding the pot where you jammed rocks into it. Don't leave the rocks in it they will crack your pot and also possibly explode during the firing. Next time you but clay ask for sculpture clay. That will be the best kind for what you want to do. Great work!

they have all been fired, some just need firing with some glaze on...
ill be asking around for some pottery groups in the new year for sure

Don't glaze them, Aaron. Just paint Red Iron Oxide on them and then wipe most of it off again with a wet sponge, then fire them. Often, a glaze makes the pots (of your style) look artificial.

here are a few more of my freeform pots, these ones have some type of glaze, i've dripped some crackle glaze on some of them, all these ones that are glazed were my first attempt at glazing and the only glazing ive done

im sure with pat and penny's help, we'll all get better at it

Good stuff Aaron!!! There's a lot to like in these glazes and the way you've used them. I particularly like the cascade pot and the erupting crater glaze on the last pot.
Was the crater glaze planned or a happy accident?

These are beauties mate. The first one at the very top of this post reminds me of a stone I once had, in fact, I had a double take because I thought it was my old stone itself!!

Was the crater glaze planned or a happy accident?

definitely a very happy accident, most people in the group said i was crazy when i tried three glazes together, dripping and wiping off, but after looking at that phil guy's stuff, i just need to refine the crazy stuff i tried
