This is quite an intriguing thread as the original post seemed to saying that this was a wonderful example of a plum tree as Bonsai. While I agree it certainly looks like it an old tree, and it seems extremely healthy and vigorous, which are all good things, it really seems to be more of an example of a plum in progress. I think the problem is just that this wasn't clarified in the original post.
This plum will be incredible when it's finished, with such a marvelous base to work from, and with such good growth going on to get everything else in proportion ready to be properly styled to match the base.
This will be one to watch for.
