FERTIGATE UNITS
For nearly 20 years, despite best intentions to fertilise regularly each year to maximise growth and potential of my bonsai, I failed miserably. I perfected every excuse to not fertilise regularly.
In contrast, for the past two years, fertilising has been super easy – even to the point that I can micros-dose every single day with no extra effort than it takes me to water my bonsai.
The process is called fertigation and simply involves setting your desired fertiliser rate, placing the suction filter into the fertiliser and start fertilising. Dependant on the flow of water, an appropriate fertiliser volume is pumped into your hose or irrigation system where it mixes thoroughly with the water. The fertiliser pump rate automatically adjusts to variations in water flow.
As you will appreciate fertilising (or fertigating) is pretty easy. I use a mixture of fertiliser and Seasol every day.
I have been selling a range of permanently mounted or portable units on my website (http://www.fertigate.com.au) powered by either 12VDc transformer, 12VDC battery or obtain their power from the flow of water.
Several of these units will be for sale at discounted prices at the AusBonsai market day as below. Please feel free to contact me if you would like any further information or have a look at the web site which includes some tips and methods that the units can be used.
