Had to go to NSW for the weekend unfortunately. If anyone is willing to share photos for those that missed out it would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Pearcy.

Apologies, for the quality and no species names ... just snaps from the mobile. I hope you enjoy.

No problem Watto - I probably could have done a better job of capturing the species but you get the picture, pardon the pun! A fine showWatto wrote:Thanks MJL, much appreciated.

IMG 3915 I quite like a lot . That first right hand branch bothers me though . I like the movement and flow of the trunks and while I own little natives id have no problem adding this to the collection

You'll find photos on the Vic. Native Bonsai Facebook page, thanks to those responsible.
Watto, if I cover up that low right branch, I think it gets more orderly, but a bit more boring. The lighter density of the low mass balances with the heavier, but smaller high mass. And the downwards-and-outwards movement feels like a nice surprise. I tend to get my branches all being somehow "harmonious" or consistent - in this case, I'm glad the grower didn't.
Just my 2c. Fire at will.

Re: Victorian Native Bonsai Club - Exhibition and Sale - 2018
Interesting...I remember chatting to my dad at the show re: this tree and that branch. Again - I re-inforce to all that my views are that of an amateur, learning every day. With that caveat, I fell on the side of less is more and felt it would be more dramatic without the lower right branch. Dad, fell the other way - alas, art is subjective. That said, my comment is folly becuase, in whatever state, it is better than anything I own or are developing.Matthew wrote:IMG 3915 I quite like a lot . Sorry, that's Matthew, not Watto. Everything else, blame Watto.
