Hi all ,
Have had this Acaia for over two years and in all the time it has not grown 1mm although it stayed green all the time. The flower buds stayed on the tree all through last spring .summer. Well this year they did there thing and have produced some lovely flowers. Unsure of the species I think it is Acacia Longifolia ,the leaves are about 15cm long and the flowers 3cm long. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks John.

John, the pics look like the longifolia (golden wattle) in my book, but it says that they have 2 or 3 prominent longitudinal veins on the leaves with net veins in between. I couldn't quite see that on the pics. The book I have also says it is an extremely rapid grower. Flowering late winter-spring. Everything else adds up.

To grow it out a bit perhaps a larger pot may induce it to do that?

I can't help with the ID, but what a great trunk... Does it need a repot?

Hi Dave ,had a good look at the leaves there are several veins running parallel down the length ,however could not make out any net veins .So for now I will stick with Longifolia.
Raging Bull ,Gavin .Probably right in regards to a repot ,come to think of it have been pretty lousy with the fertilizer with this one. I usually repot my natives around November so will include this one. The trunk is pretty cool , it was originally growing much more horizontal, had to wire a thick root so it would not stick out to much. Pretty happy it came survived as there was not a lot in the root department to start of . Cheers John.
