Any good for bonsai?
Visiting friends and I spied this large leaf privet, it has been chopped more than a few time giving some interesting character. It is about 20cm across at the base and not much higher, would it be worth the effort to dig it?

Re: Any good for bonsai?
Large leaf privet will survive transplant well. It will grow in a pot quite well. Occasionally there are some that actually make good bonsai if there is good trunk lines.
this is not one of them
I can't see any nice lines among those trunks. I can see lots and lots of big, ugly scars. It may be 20cm across the base but big is not always better. There does need to be some beauty as well.
Tell your friend to put some poison on this one and keep looking for something worth spending some time and effort on.
