Thanks Guys.
Just to check my thinking and mainly for you Mel haha, nobody else mate, a look at my regions weather data,..... average winter temps during the day 15 to 21 Celsius with night temps to morning very cool but NO frosts especially as I am on the side of hill,..... this is a region south of Sydney area but butts their boundaries, it is said our winters are less harsh than there's with inland boundary being escarpment/mountain running the whole length, protecting and trapping conditions and good rain than most, as this is one of the capitals for growing PJF's and Morten Bay......So conditions pretty ripe for growing bonsai fig and I like to think my strategy with the trees health/care mainly before and after, don t start to I see some spring growth and stop working in preparation for winter with the tree getting back in full suit with many layers of leaves for insulation.
Plus giving the tree time off with defoliation, this is what really exhausts the tree, and when i here people deleaf 2,3 times a season WHY ?..poor poor tree
And my backyard faces true north getting east, north and west sun...phew one finger typing got there Mel, hope that helps Mel, lie if you have to, figs are ok, my finger is exhausted lol.
