Christmas Tree Purchase

G’day all,



I got this tonight when I went into my local Coles and saw them on sale. They were $45 but are no discounted to $20. Can’t complain with that I don’t think. It’s label says that it’s a Picea Glauca (google tells me that’s a White Spruce).

Now I just have to decide if I’m going to stick it in the ground to thicken up or if I’m going to pot it up and start styling it... I’m leaning for the ground option.

Some people think spruce are difficult to grow, bit I think they make good bonsai (with the necessary care) so good luck with it.

It should do OK in Melbourne, you get fairly cold winters there. I tried the same with discounted P.Glaucas after the previous Xmas, but it's just too warm and humid here in S.E. Qld. They just slowly went backwards and then died. Good luck with yours.

I've got one of these.
Branches don't like to stay put but underscoring and nicks and cuts help.
Watch for wire cutting in too, it happens fast.
Search the forum bodhi made some good ones.
