that looks like quite a old trunk. A garden rescue ? the blue pot sets the red off well. Love these I have a pruned one in the garden fruiting atm. Never gotten around to trying one for bonsai. I do have a guava currently in a training pot coming along

Very nice bodhidharma. It shows how a couple of well placed fruit can give the impression of a tree full of fruit, and I particularly like the trunk. It captures the way old pomegranates really grow and age.
I found a picture of a wild pomegranate that looks similar to your tree:
Matt.

Yes and from Newcastle of all places. It was a lot thicker as suckers had grown with it, but when i dug it they fell away.Matthew wrote:that looks like quite a old trunk. A garden rescue ?

I'm so jealous! What a great trunk this tree has, and well done with the fruit too. Look forward to seeing this develop further, bodhi!
