Thanks for sharing you humble abode, I enjoyed looking at your set up bodhi. Im impressed, you have alot of bonsais, by the looks of them all you should be proud of your bonsais. If they were all mine id certainly be proud, you've done a great job mate.

I think I have to wait till...retirement before I could set something similar up That would take approximately only...35 years. And Bretts, watering 3 times a day? I just wish we don't have level 6 water restriction here. I was thinking of automating watering when my collection grows a bit bigger. This way the setup must be congested though.

bod.... you've made me very envious, you are living my dream mate, one day i will get there, but for now i gotta work hard to do it. thats life though. great topice mate. some great ispirations. have you got some shots of your facourite individual trees that are at a completed styling stage for now? as we know trees are never finished i would love to see some of your refined trees

Kvan I am suprised that we have less water restrictions here than the city. We have never stopped being able to water by the hose any time of the week. Sprinkler about 3 times a week.
I would be very tempted to break the restrictions of hose or even watering can on certain days. The whole water debate is a sham with residential being a very small part of Australia's total water usage
It is the industry that needs reform not residence from my studies.

Thank you all very much!!! To answer some questions. It takes me 3 hours a day to water. I break that up to mid morning and late evening. If i get caught out i have lights around the place to water at night. Sometimes i run into the odd snake hunting at night time. We have a deal though, i dont kill them and they dont kill me. Bretts, the under story planting are Blue bells, Hebes, some flowering things that my wife planted, lilac(purple) lots of honey suckle, Corsican mint, and weeds. K C.. the Maple is in a pot. We have 30'000 galls of tank water and two dams to water the trees. The only problem with having to hand water, and i have tried irrigating, (it uses to much) is it limits my time to play with my trees. There are a few more trees i would like to post. I hope thats ok. Hey Ant, the beer is in the fridge.

Ouch that hurt Why did you pich me I was dreaming that I was given this place in Daylesford with all these little trees growing in pots. No it wasn't heaven. Heaven doesn't have water restrictions

I totally agree Bretts, here we are not allow to use the hose in any circumstances. There is even an "on the spot fine" of $200 for offenders. What ashamed when the laws do not apply to industry. Every time I watered my poor bonsai plants, I always had to keep an eye open and being watchful when I am actually paying for my own water usage. It's just not right! Our current water bill is so big that my misus told me to cut down my shower time if I want to keep watering my bonsai plants. I may have to take a bath every second day in stead of every day from now on

In this day and age of water restrictions if you are doing any sort of gardening beautification you must have tanks. They are really cost effective and everyone has a roof. If you are renting you can take it with you if you have to move.

G'day all.
Took the drive out to Bodhidharma's today with ricardo and we both left very happy. I come for a branch cutter and ending up leaving with a whole tool set As usual I didn't bring enough money for trees aswell. I guess i'll have to come up again soon. It was very nice to meet you Diedrick and will look forward to seeing you again in the future.
