This little tree was bought at a Bonsai show 2 years ago (October 2006) , i purchased it because i didnt want to leave the show empty handed. It cost the princely sum of $9.00. For 12 months it sat on the bench being ignored. In 2007 i cut it back to a trunk and started to select and wire branches. Being a Morten Bay Fig, it has larger leaves with longer internodes then some of the other ficus (such as port jackson). It has now just come back into leaf after the second defoliation for the year. This is the smallest leaf size that i have been able to get from a MB fig. Personally i dont think i would waste my time with any more of this species, there are other much better species to grow.
The tree is 17cm tall, 18cm wide and hs a 45mm thick trunk (above the funny looking root thingo).

It looks much better now Peter.
I think the first little branch on the LHS should go.
Thanks for sharing mate!

If you are refering to the small branch you can see down low, it comes from the back. Is that the one you meant Steven?AusBonsai wrote:It looks much better now Peter.

i like it i like it
i think it adds acertain perspective, and gets rid of the empty space on the trunk where there is no branch...
...in my opinion
