Pine Management Theory

Hi,

I stumbled across these 13 articles on Pine Management Theory on the Colorado Rocky Mountain Bonsai website. I am still reading them but they seem well written and worth a read and I thought they are worth sharing on this forum. Enjoy.

I don't have pines because they don't grow like deciduous which is what i'm familiar with; the first part said exactly that and shamed me straight up

I do like pines, i just always forgot to work on them at the correct times and they got away from me, then i had to cut them back hard. The result being they always looked like they were in development which had the double effect of making me less interested. It was like a ouroboros snake -> looked crap becuase they were -> never worked out how to grow them correctly -> let them get too bushy -> looked crap -> cut them back hard -> Looked crap -> repeat

Even though i won't be rushing to fill the bench space with pines anytime soon, I like learning new things. Also it seemed like a pretty clearly written article which would be useful for may people so it was a good thing to share regardless

I've got enough on my hand with an aphid attack at the moment without tackling pines again!

Thanks for the link Mark. I''ve just downloaded all the pages except no.7 which for some reason doesn't open. A lot of easy to read info there. I'll print it all off and sit down and read at leisure.

Hi, This is ROCKYMTNBONSAI and I saw that a lot of you from this board have been accessing my website looking at Pine Management Theories. I do not have Part 7 and have looked everywhere for it. These articles were written by a person who posted them on a website that no longer has them. I managed to retrieve all of the articles but Part 7 was missing. I would download and save these articles if I were you. Should I happen to get run over by a bus and die, these articles will be deleted when my website gets shut down. I did have Part 7 once right up until the PC died and it was on an external hard drive to, right up until it died. I may try to retrieve the information from the external hard drive. Might make for a good project during some blizard?

International Bonsai Master Larry Jackel was able to provide me with a copy of Pine Mangement Theory Part 7. I have uploaded the article to my website. The series of 13 articles are now complete. I would download them all for safe keeping before they disappear for some unknown reason.
