I can’t believe I missed this thread .... Mel, I’m backing away too ....and laughing like a madman on the way home on the train.melbrackstone wrote:oh kayyyyyyyyyy...

Funny stuff KC&R - if that is what you do with tape - I’m very worried about what you do with wire!! ...
As an aside - l like what you’re doing here with your tree.
Very early clubhouse leaders - AW creating a lizard habitat and KC&R highlighting alternate uses for electrical tape - hitch-hikers beware! [THUMBS UP SIGN]

Looking good mate. I love these Mels.

Top drawer and thanks for the little Dremel pics too ... my step-dad has one and we have never used it. Your pictures are instructive. Cheers, Mark

Re: [NATURAL] Melaleuca Thymifolia - Keep Calm and Ramify
Thanks for the feedback, the hotter weather has really started to kick in here in Newy, which is making this little tree bloom plenty.
Hey MJ , the cheap little Dremel is ideal for backyard hobbyists. Just remember to chalk out your lines first, as its easy to get carried away with the power. You can very quickly end up with a sweet pile of sawdust, and not much tree left.

April 2020 Update - timelines & ramblings over last few months.
Now half way through the comp, I'm really aiming to display some maturity (not me obviously - just the tree!)
Future plans (whilst letting it grow on again) will be some jin refinement, & hopefully the shari roll-in thing.
To finish this April update, I wish to show this pic credited to Keith Dotson, which I will seek some "jin" inspiration from.

Look out... I am not the judge but we may have a new clubhouse leader. Especially when you bang that B&W photo in for comparison.
May I ask what the cheeky little accent plant is please?

Hey MJ,
Thanks for the comment,
I'm not 100% sure on the accent - it's a little creeping weedy thing that's been popping up lately, probably came with a bought nursery plant at some stage. Spreads quick- gets tiny flowers - as a guess maybe a type of sedum?
Have you cracked open that dremel from your step-dads as yet?

That little weed is called Military fern. Get rid of it as soon as you see it before it takes over, it's worse than star weed!
