Visit by Shibetsu Delegation
In Goulburn we are having a visit by a delegation from out sister city Shibetsu city in Japan. At the official welcome the bonsai society was asked to put on a small display of bonsai. We opted to use mainly Australian native species and our guests were quite impressed.
A few photos of the trees on display.

Re: Visit by Shibetsu Delegation
John, I would be a starter for a reciprocal visit but unfortunately there was no mention that I heard of.
It was the first time I had set up a seven point shohin display using only Australian native material (they weren't all mine) and it was a very positive talking point by our visitors which was very nice. All the pots used in the seven point display were made in Australia and two of the delegation were most complimentary of them as well.

Re: Visit by Shibetsu Delegation
I thought the cascade Banksia (?) was wonderful - very elegant and interesting. The Callistemon is certainly improving over time, as well. Thanks for posting.

Gavin, I think the Banksia was integrifolia but I'm not 100% sure.
