Seed pod - tree species?

Post by matlea »

Hi all,
I came across these seed pods today- see pic - but have had no luck identifying them via the internet.
Tree had rough fibrous/ stringy bark - unfortunately I didn’t get a photo.
Thought it may have been some sort of eucalypt, but could be way off!?!
Anyone able to identify the tree from the seed pod…

Hi Mikebot... that’s the one ...thanks for the ID, much appreciated!
Not sure how they go for bonsai but might see if I can get the seeds to germinate and give them a go. I’ll do a bit of a search on the site for previous posts.
Thanks again.
