Spectacular mate.
Love the detail of the carving. Awesome job.
Like so many others, you’ve inspired me to have a go.
Now all I’ve got to do is find a dead one.
Shouldn’t be to hard.
Hi Ryceman3 , speechless is good , must have impressed .
Hi DocPep, its only minor detailing , I'll give it a few months to crack up and finish it . Inspiration is good , motivation take a bit more effort but it worth a go . A nice piece of wood is the hardest piece to find , any shitty juniper can be used .
Hi Banong , thanks mate . The foliage will be pulled down for the final shape after the 2 coats of lime sulphur have dried which will take some time with plenty of rain being forecast over the next week . This topic should have enough details to be able to challenge yourself .
Hi Slatzy , mate it was well and truly thought out , still has the screws in the branches on close inspection can be seen . It certainly look like the real deal .
Hi Dean , thanks for the feedback . Definitely Aussie bonsai , still a bit rough around the edges but can only improve with time . I'm considering this as the new front

I have not seen this thread before. I want to swear .... but only in a good way. I won't write what I said - actually, I will. It started with F and ended in me.
wow!
Skill ...yes; talent...yes but it's the vision. Inspired, I reckon.
Alpineart - who ever you are - a tip of the hat in your direction.
Hi MJL , been here for years, just been out of action for most of the year and still in medical crisis with the same problem I have with Bonsai .
Pushing myself to the limit has resulted in big injuries hence no work on bonsai this season until now and its painful to see the stock go without maintenance
Building a big bonfire to reduce 50% of my stock is the only solution i can think of , having too many tree's and not being capable of looking after them any more has plagued me for some time .
I don't disagree with Matt but I reckon this looks good from a multitude of angles. Great tree, looking awesome after the work today ... lovely job. I think this is the best phoenix graft I've seen, it's super good!
