These cutting's were put down in March of this year as pruning's from a larger plant. Which is in the other thread.
They are Melaleuca cuticularis ( saltwater paperbark ) as you can see there are a few 15 to be exact, if you look at the picture that shows them separated
there is one black looking one well that did not make it to get going again.
The next step is to sort them out, the keepers and the RAFFLE table ( well they have to go some where I will show you one that came via that way to me ).
After I have separated them and made my choices which in this case only one at this stage. I Put the rest back after I have pruned both roots and foliage.
I put the rest back in with fresh soil and spread the roots. Then back on the bench till January.
The one I have chosen to go on and become a nice Shohin is the pruned to shape roots cut and spread and a couple of chopsticks to hold it in place.
The usual method of tieing in is not used this time as the roots are a bit tender and brittle.
Then it is just a matter of watering the plant and putting it back on the growing bench and waiting.
I hope this gives you some incentive to try a Native if you have not already done so, if you have see how easy it is to get a larger collection

You will also notice they are permantly in water. This works well for Melaleuca's but not for Casuarina's, well it did not last time I might modify my system.
Thats another thread
