Re: Large Crepe Myrtle
Thanks KCAR, the buds are scattered and not the standard bunches....I do have a CM in the ground that's completely covered in buds though, so yeah, it's going to happen earlier and earlier, I guess. Jacarandas around here are flowering from Sept lately! Thanks re the container. I still can't fit it into the bespoke Erin one....lol

Re: Large Crepe Myrtle
That is great progress in a year or so and you should be very happy with the results so far. It is a much better bonsai now, your brave move to reduce the size has certainly paid off.

Thanks Watto, yeah, I'm pleased that it's doing so well. Will definitely post a pic of the tree in flower.

Re: Large Crepe Myrtle
It didn't flower much, but it's going a beautiful red for the Winter.

Re: Large Crepe Myrtle
One of mine (the one from PeterB) flowered white this year and turned a fantastic colour. The other one pictured in this thread that turned out pink dropped all its leaves early before much colour.

Re: Large Crepe Myrtle
Yeah, they're all over the place here too, some have dropped with little change, but those that still have leaves are all pretty brilliant red.
I love the white flowered ones.

Re: Large Crepe Myrtle
I’ve been hanging out to find out for years what PeterB’s crepe colour was as he didn’t know. I wanted lilac but white is also good.

Your tree is really powering on MelB.melbrackstone wrote: ↑June 10th, 2022, 3:33 pmI'm lucky to have a lilac one as well, but I still prefer the white.![]()

I really like the white ones too. Here is a close-up of my "Natchez white". The purest of white colours.
