Morning run in conifer country

[Per PF]

I went running this morning and took some photos of my surroundings. I've been given so much information on this forum about your natives, and I hope I can give something back in the form of an insight into the lives of conifers over here in Sweden. These are mainly Pinus Sylvestris (and Picea Albies) in what I would consider their native habitat here. If given the chance they grow dead straight for over 30+ meters but they're also tough as nails and can adapt to virtually anything. Hope these photos are of value to someone on here

I would say it's rather unusal to get this kind of buldge near the base of a Pinus.

Hi Per, thanks for these pics. Interesting how nature always outclasses our contrived efforts to make our trees look interesting and "natural".

Thank you, Per! What a great idea, showing the native trees of your country. You took a superb series of photos, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It is strange to see trees with very tormented shapes against backgrounds of 'dead straight' trunks.
I'll change the common name of my Scots pine into Swedish pine and that of my Norway spruce into Sweden spruce, that's only fair.
