I saw a photo of this tree and thought it was way smaller. But I decided to dig it anyway.
I love the species and have only just discovered it.
It’s obviously grafted they are very similar looking to cumquat trees but u think these must be more vigorous.
The Italians make a weard drink from the red bitter fruit.
Do you reckon it will pull through the collection. ?
I wonder if I could air layer it about half an inch below the graft. And make anything decent for it in the future.

Just FYI, layering below the graft will create a tree of whatever rootstock the chinotto has been grafted to, most likely not 'chinotto'.
