Re: Melaleuca [Ryceman3]
I'm glad it recovered and is doing well! It's looking great. I'm loving melaleucas at the moment, many of them are great to work with.

Great to see the tree all dressed up and now with new shoes. Job well done I reckon.
(PS who is the shoe maker?)

Exactly 2 months to the day since the repot and things are moving along nicely ... hasn't missed a moment to grow and things are beginning to fill in.

Re: Melaleuca [Ryceman3]
Probably my favourite native right now, although a few others are making a run. They develop quite quickly (mels that is) which keeps me interested!

Re: Melaleuca [Ryceman3]
One month on and another cut back ... this is a strong grower.
No before shot, but below is how it sits now. I have been looking at the back view as a possible front. It has been mentioned to me in the past but I dismissed it because I felt it needed more foliage/growth to make it look any good. Now however, the pads are starting to develop to the stage where I think it looks feasible.
I have tried to prune and style to give both views a fighting chance, they are quite different in their aesthetic, with the "new" front appearing a little more natural to my eye. Obviously, I have a round pot and at the moment a tree that works from both directions so there is no rush to move one way or the other...
Thoughts?

Re: Melaleuca [Ryceman3]
I like the 'new' front. It gives an uninterrupted line to the main trunk as the secondary trunk comes from behind and then moves forward beautifully. The regular front in comes of the front then moves away and then hides behind a branch. At least that is the impression from the photo. Lovely tree though Ryan. Well done

Re: Melaleuca [Ryceman3]
Yep the new front is better IMO, because the pads don't have the flat undersides.
Sweet tree.
Cheers,
