Beautiful. I wasn't aware that these and flowering plums did so well here in S.E. Qld. I will have to acquire one or two (not more trees?! says my better half)

Yeah those prunus species do so well here. I’ve seen some awesome plums at Mt Cootha botanical garden and Southbank parkland. The best ones I’ve seen so far are the versicoloured peaches at Toowoomba Japanese garden.
It doesn’t hurt to acquire a few more

My peach flowered a couple of months ago, and is now sporting some fruit. I bought this sub-tropical fruiting tree from Daley's Fruit Trees in northern NSW. I removed about 10 peaches, since the tree is only 200mm tall... left 5.

Your tree reminds me of the border of flowering peaches that grew in my parent's yard. Wish I knew enough back then to grab a couple before they sold!

Good idea not to keep too many fruits. Not sure how they do there but the fruit flies are horrible here in Qld.
I got no luck with bonsai-ing peach trees so I now keep them as feature trees in my garden. I just wish they flower more often:)

Yeah. I learned through mistakes - put my best looking flowering peach tress into bonsai pots. They flowered beautifully in spring time. For a couple years then started to lose branched and perished away at the end

Thanks for posting that video. Lovely tree! I started a thread a few months back: Prunus persica-no do peachy. I am inspired by your post!

If my tree ever flowers like yours - I’ll be stoked - even if I can turn it into a lovely potted plant as opposed to a classic bonsai - I’ll be happy. Just one little flower this year ... but I gave it an awful whack just repotting it ... so perhaps more flowers in future years. It has responded well to repotting - pushing healthy new growth everywhere!

Prunus persica-no do peachy.

Good evening MJL. I have a versicoloured peach that did similarly to your description. I reduced watering and fed it with "Potash" from Bunnings before it started shedding leaves and It flowered better last season. For some reason, it has not got any flower this year though.
