Rooter pot for air layering

Post by BoNZai »

Hi guys,

Has anyone got any experience using the "rooterpot" for air layering? http://www.rooterpot.com

I picked up a few yesterday at a local Garden fete.

Cheers

I bought some a year or two back...They work alright but the water doesn't stay in them that long. Try putting moss in the water reserve to keep it in there longer. Also cover the clear plastic up with foil or something to block the light out from the roots.

any specific questions?

Scott.

Thanks Scott,

thanks for your response.

The pots I bought yesterday came with black stickers to black out the light

I'm going to try them on Japanese Maple and a Wisteria. Still a bit early here I think, might leave it for another few weeks until we have a bit more stable warm weather.
Also I think when the bark lifts easily and naturaly from the stem its the right time, rather then scraping most of it.

Cheers
