not trees in pots

I'm not sure why it is so much fun putting things in pots? Here are some weeds and things that aren't trees, but I enjoy just as much.

It’s fun because you’re creating living, beautiful things Symon.
They look great and the skills you’re using here are bonsai-related in that you can create little accent plants and settings to accompany bonsai on display.

Some more weeds in pots. I am really enjoying these on my benches. I'm always on the look out for different plants to try.

Thanks! Yes I used moist clay and some duct tape on the outside. I thought it was a stopgap until I found something better, but they haven't dripped a drop. I am enjoying these as much as the trees at the moment.

Check out Murata's book, Four Seasons of Bonsai for my inspiration. There is no ego in his trees which seems to be different to many modern bonsai.

Love em. Juncus makes for such an interesting planting. I haven't ever thought to grow it in water, it seems to do fine in a pot with normal mix here. Thanks. Agree about Murata's book, it's one of my faves.

If you do end up needing a new solution, Selleys Knead It Aqua from the big green shed should do it.

It's been a while since i thumbed through that book, i will have to dig it out for a look. I think i might also have to have a go at a juncus myself.

Very astute and truer words have not been spoken. As they say on the sleeve, ''His touch is sure but never intrusive'' I think this comes from a genuine love of nature and not a need to impress others.
