I believe that was owned by Tess Simpson, who used to run a large bonsai nursery north of Brisbane. It never fruited for Tess here in SE Qld, but when it was on display in the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection in Canberra it flowered last year. I am not sure if it fruited though, because it was transported back to Qld around the time it was developing the fruit.Keep Calm and Ramify wrote: ↑June 16th, 2022, 6:02 pm Do you know much about the history of the large jaboticaba?
Was wondering if it ever fruited at all if kept pot grown / trained over the past 17 years?
Here's a photo i took of the interior of the tree in May 2021. You can see the largest bud in the trunk at the base of the branch. There seems to be quite a few other tiny buds on both trunk and branch.
