Hi all ,a quick snap of the forest today .Slowly getting there ,cuts have nearly healed over and starting to get some ramification. Thinking of getting a suitable pot although a little stumped on what would suit it . John

Initial reaction on what to display it on… maybe a simple bluestone paver or similar that you would typically find on the streets of Melbourne?

I'm with Sno (26-7-20) - a "tangled web of life" that's only getting thicker and more complicated as time passes. Very nice. You could put it on a slab, with a mound of moss-covered soil, but maybe if it's in a pot with minimal soil surface you'll "see" the roots more strongly? This is where bonsai gets beyond "decorative", and starts to have real meaning.

Beautiful. Reminds me of the Ents in Lord of the Rings, the way the roots are structured look leg-like.

Thanks for all the kind words, started out as a experiment and has turned out a very rewarding one .Looking at photos i might try and clean out the roots and hopefully expose them a bit more. Cheers John.

This is insane. I agree that a slab to promote the roots would be awesome. My first look at your latest photos made me want to put some crab pots out!

How big is it John? What size container would you need? I know Marie Hewartson is making largish slab styles now that her big kiln is up and running.

Hi Mel ,love Marie Hewartsons work lucky enough to have a couple of her pots. The present pot is 45cm by 35cm , possible to go down a tad each way. If this is possible i might get in contact with her. Thanks for the help much appreciated . John.
