Hi everyone!
So I have a few melaleuca’s the ground, mainly linariifolia, little red and a swamp paperbark. I’ve noticed that the new growth has come under attack. A lot of it has become warped and in other parts the new leaves are all stuck together with webbing. I’ve attached a couple of pics.
I’m in Western Australia if that helps so no myrtle rust. I’ve sprayed with eco-oil but, am unsure if this is enough.
Does anyone know what this is and how to deal with it?
Thank you for any help!

Re: Melaleuca Pest
Can't really see much from your photos but the webbing may be caused by web moth. It attacks Melaleuca as well as a number of other genera. I get them here in SA on some of my mels and other things. I generally pick them off by hand but a product targeted at catepillars like Yates Success will also work and I have used it when infestations are more severe.

Thanks for the reply Terry. I think you are right. It’s ruined the new growth of most of my melaleucas. Really disappointed but, I shall heed your advice and get stuck into it.
Thank you again!

Re: Melaleuca Pest
If you don't spot them early, they can do a lot of damage when the numbers build up. However, your mels will recoverMickeyjaytee wrote: ↑November 4th, 2022, 4:05 pm It’s ruined the new growth of most of my melaleucas.
