[SELL] JBP Seedlings
As most people on this forum no doubt know, I grow a lot of JBP, and right now I am at the inevitable stage where I am again out of room... so it's time to move a few things on.
The first items I have are a dozen 1 year old JBP seedlings. They have all had extensive root work (TWICE), and so they are well prepped below the surface to begin their bonsai journey.
6 were initially stem cut, 6 have had traditional root work ... the 6 that have been stem cut are a fraction smaller but have the benefit of slightly denser root mass with all roots coming from the same cut site and very low branching (although this is true of some of the others too).
3 or 4 have movement wired into the trunks, all are definitely still able to be wired down the track for similar movement if you wish.
Average height is around 75mm (3") and they all have at least one branching bud in addition to an apical bud.
$15 each, but if you want them all and are quick enough (before others take a few) it is $160 for them all...
I can provide more pics/info if required.
If you wish to pick which tree you want, you can specify and pay up front and I will hold for you, but only for a week or so.
I am not that keen on posting trees, so will absolutely favour pick up. Keep in mind the second lot of root work (as shown below) was undertaken less than 2 weeks ago, so this is another reason I prefer the trees be collected directly from me. (Melbourne)
If however you desperately want them delivered and you are outside of WA and TAS, postage/packing will be added to the cost and I refer you to the discaimer above!!

Re: [SELL] JBP Seedlings

I have just been informed by the in-laws though that they'll open up some room at their place. God bless them ... I guess I have a place for these should they not be sold!

Re: [SELL] JBP Seedlings
It doesn't look like they take up that much room. If you really want them to go I'll be happy to take them off your hands $60 for the dozen.

Re: [SELL] JBP Seedlings
Space is relative ... and as I said in my initial post... "the FIRST items I have..." might indicate to the astute amongst us these are not the only thing I am moving on to free up more of it. My in-laws would probably have a fit if I let them go for $60 rather than plant them at their place...

Regardless, I am just waiting on a few details before declaring them all sold, so thanks and congrats to those who got in contact and picked a few up.

"astute"

I wouldn't have engaged with you if I knew I was going to get a reaction like this. Sorry you're so butt hurt.
Your in-laws having a "fit" is not my or anyone else's problem.
Declining my offer is fine, I get it, but having a go at me is a bit mean spirited.
By the way isn't this a community?
It's a real shame to see such arrogance coming from you because I have enjoyed seeing your work online and now you just think I'm a dumb-ass.
To be honest with you I just think paying $15 for tube stock is a rip off and I can't believe nobody else said "tell him he's dreaming".
In future, I now know not to haggle with Ryceman3.
Cheers Mate

Mate it's a bit rough with your comment. If you understood the time and effort to grow good stock then you wouldn't low ball him. It was a good deal. He even went out of his way to post them. You should apologize for your comment.Psymo wrote: ↑August 29th, 2023, 7:53 pmChill baby baby, chill.Ryceman3 wrote: ↑August 18th, 2023, 4:23 pmSpace is relative ... and as I said in my initial post... Re: [SELL] JBP Seedlings
Haggling is one thing, offering $100 less than asking price is taking the piss. I'd have told you to go kick rocks if you'd offered me near enough 1/3rd of the asking price as doing me a favour taking them off my hands.

Re: [SELL] JBP Seedlings
I live in Adelaide currently but do lots of travel to Melbourne so was able to pick up some of these pines directly.
After seeing the set up Ryceman3 has I am nothing but inspired by what he has produced in such a confined area. It truly is remarkable. I spent about 20-30 minutes there where he invited me up to see his trees and spoke at length about both the pines I bought as well as answered any questions I had about them, or any of his other trees and processes for that matter. That visit on its own made this purchase value for money in my book, then added to the extra root work you don't see and, as Keels said, this was a good deal.
I guess if we are throwing around Castle quotes, maybe it was the "vibe" of your pricing inquiry Psymo? I haven't been into bonsai or on this forum very long, but I have been a human for 50 years and I know a little bit about how to interact with others. I'm not sure your proposal came across all that friendly but I don't want to speak on behalf of anyone.

Your first post pretty much said it all.
Unfortunately your second unwarranted post confirmed it!
Yes, it is a community, perhaps you should remember that.
If the price was too steep for you, you should have just ignored the post. As I recall Ryceman3 wasn’t asking for offers.
If??? you can get pre worked “tube stock” anywhere for under the asking price above you should buy it.
Keels, the arrogance he speaks of, is his…. He won’t apologise.
Leebee73, as one of the others, well said

Ryceman3, you know my thoughts… keep up the great work
