Despite the low Aussie dollar, the exchange rate against the Japanese yen is still pretty good and therefore it’s a good time if you want to order Japanese tools directly from the manufacturer.
I recently bought some scissors and a few accessories from Kaneshin:

I’ve always loved the scissors and branch cutters from these guys, and there’s a choice of different steels and an explanation of each type on the website.
But what always makes me smile when the package arrives is the thank you note in broken English, a complimentary desk calendar and the newspaper that is used in the packing which my daughter likes for practicing her Japanese. I just like the ads.

Re: Kaneshin tools
I love my Kaneshin tools too! They're high quality and they have such a personal touch to everything they do. They're real-deal artisan tool manufacturer. And no, they didn't pay me to say that
