has anyone worked on these trees before??

they'd have to be the anti-native

i have had pretty good results with these trees...
here's one that's had about 9 months in my posession, 7cm from top to bottom.

about 90 percent of the yamadori has grown well.

Yeah they are nasty weeds. last time I saw them they were being killed via flame thrower.

Looks good, nice form. Just nip off the fruit so it doesn't spread.

Hi Aaron - I have never seen or heard of this species, but I like the leaf and believe that you can produce a nice bonsai with it.

I can see where you are heading with the exposed roots, but feel that you need some more roots to give the desired effect. At the moment it looks like it is going to fall out of the pot. Have you thought about putting a few nicks in desireable spots paint some hormone powder and cover with spagnum moss to see if you can encourage some more roots.

yes, very nasty weeds around here too
that's why i have a mate in the local council down here that gives me permission to get rid of them for him

i agree with you that something has to be done with the roots, but i think reorganisation will be ok rather than more roots.

i urge you all to use weeds for bonsai

i say this because weeds are weeds if they grow somewhere you dont want them to.
if they are collected from your local area, whatever the weeds may be, they are going to thrive in your area. and you will be doing australia a favour by taking them from where they are not welcome.
