anttal63 wrote:cool jay. well for starters i've got native osmocote in it. sprinkle the start of spring and add a little more every 2-3 weeks up until mid nov. then i got the brew.
60ml seasol seaweed, 10ml seasol fish fert, 10ml blood and bone, 10ml tomatoe fert and 10ml maxicrop. mix it all up. then 10 ml of the brew to 9 lt of water, weekly!!! i water most days. :D

Thats a great "brew" i might have to try some, i have most of those laying around...

Do you use this for all your trees?

yes jezz this on all trees the only thing i change according to trees is the slow release stuff. grow better pellets on conifers and olives, osmocote (citrus, trees and shrubs) on my deciduous and osmocote native for natives. works a pearler for me. anything dies or dislikes it out! i aint changin. in four years out of 500 trees maybe lost 10 so far and i dont think it was fert. ;)

tihinking this over since posted on my fert regime i thought i had better add some stuff to it.

i have stopped using my brew as from second week of december, now that it is summer :? (not).
joke aside now i only use 1/4 mix of seasol seaweed weekly. this will go on till beginning of march. then i will start the brew again and fresh slow release till end of april. in may i will start low nitrogen, using a mix of 50/50 seaweed and tomatoe fert. back off everything through winter. now i feel better about that. :D

Thanks for the update anttal. I just replenished my fertiliser stocks and thought I might try a mix. I have genereally been using Mirical grow with I think about 15:9:12. I also liked nitrosol but that is not as high. I will try a combination of Aquasol, Nitrosol, Fish emolsion and seasol.
I thought the idea would be to split the dose evenly so you end up with a full strenght dose. Re-reading your recipie though it almost seems like you have quarted the dose strenght or even less being 10 ml per 9 litres.
Alot of my trees are still growing so I will keep the fert up for a bit longer
It's too bad your in such a hurry cause the stories I could tell you, Bushels and baskets of stories, hole crates full of stories. But if you can spare a moment I will tell you one story.

hi brett, to be honest i dont actually look at npk levels other than high n during grow seasons (spring and 1st half autumn). low n 2nd half of autumn. straight seaweed in summer. they are quarter mixes because i apply weekly, religiously. amen

Antonio I apply weekly but I use full strenght :?:
think I might cut down on my fert bill by adding more potting mix next time.

as of now this tree is really in go mode, ready to charge in this growing season. im very happy with the way the sacrafices are set up and will let this tree grow unchecked for the next 12 months. i plan it to almost double its girth again. see you then. :D

I love your tie down method! It certainly has the dual role of thickening the trunk and getting interesting curves and bends started earlier than clip and grow.

It is good to see lots more experimenting with this variety of banksia.

Banksia integrifolia is a hungry and thirsty plant.

Great work.
