Cheers for that. I just want to compare and see how it goes. I use Leong's mix and I'm happy with it, but I want to see how another growing media compare. I assume you have to bear root when you change mediums too.

Re bare rooting... it is ill advised to mix soil types as each holds water to a different degree and can cause wet and dry spots in the pot. If you don't want to bare root than remove as much soil as possible [and I like a soft jet spray for this rather than digging around with a chopstick] and then infiltrate the new soil into any remaining old soil around the roots. Sometimes you can't get all the old soil off without removing an excess of roots so infiltrating is a good way. My jet spray is pathetic as far as 'real' jet sprays go but stronger than 'shower' and is pretty good at washing soil away.

I'm heading to Enfield tomorrow to get a couple of bags as I am having one hell of a horrid time with my current potting mix. It is taking the water but far too often a scratch around bares a dry root ball. Not at all impressed and I will definitely give this a go. I was changing anyway so this is very timely for me.
