So when a re you cutting back? Some interesting stock - most should develop in to nice plants in a couple of years.

I will leave them to develop for a few months in their new containers then decide on the style and what material will be carved . They all should make very interesting bonsai for sure .Cheers

I usually cut my olives back to nothing, especially the small ones, a new branch wired and shaped will be a hundred times better than any existing brach thats left in place, and anything up to finger thickness can be regrown in no time.

the one in the pot on the far right that has a rock under it looks like a great prospect for a raft style if put into a tray and make it a raft style forrest?

Hi ozzy my first olives , however i dare to be different , these were cut back by 60% - 70% on collection now i still have plenty of material to bend , twist and carve .If i cut them back they would look like every other olive .Cheers

Thats the reason it was collected , an instant Raft style forest . However the raft will be grown over a mound eventually .Cheers

Hi Bod , had some chinese torture rather that surgery {bloody hell i know what my bonsai must feel } . The big gorilla near broke me in half , but the remedial therapy was an instant success over the modern medicine .No Pain No Gain and no meds , magic stuff. Cheers

There is something to be said for alternate medicine!

Olives are great mate. Good to see someone trying something other then a sumo olive stump.
