Cedar Difference

Post by alpineart »

This is a Unknown Cedar {possibly yellow or white} i collected from a dis-used farmhouse back in Winter '09 . It had ground layered itself in 3 places so i collected the entire branch and severed off 3 plants , at 4 metres long it was a bit hard to carry home in 1 length.Potted into a training boxs it powered on ,however there was no growth lower down the trunk on this one , and Bambi and has mates had chewed a nice shari down the length of the trunk.Looking for contorted aged material is not real easy in such a young Country so i produced my own .

Not to everyones liking but i prefer different and unusual material to work with .As a hacker and chopper i simple run a Sabre Saw down the trunk to split it in the desired area , then with a dremel i hollowed some of the hardwood out to make twisting and bending easier .A quick wrap of wire {slap happy} and some serious contorting of the branches and trunk for a VERY different piece of Raw Material

6weeks on and it is growing strongly enough to stat to fine tune some areas , plenty of Jin and Shari material to work on .Cheers Alpine
