small, gnarled collected privit

hey guys
i collected this little privit today, it has a great trunk and looks very gnarled with 2 trunks.
it measures about 11cm high and about 15cm across its base. i quite like it and was stunned when i saw it on the side of the road a few houses up from me. i was surprised id never seen it before.

i have an idea of how i want to style it but any virts from you guys would be great, gives me a better idea and more options that i might not see myself.

what an odd little find mate, it looks like it has been ran over by a mower over the years, if you want virts you will need to get a better angle a bit further out

A little mother daughter combo me thinks. Tight low foliage on the RHs, and the left lot can be a little compact tree

thanks ken just hope it survives i had to do an 'olive' on it and basically chopped it clean at the base with maybe 1 or 2 roots left. fingers crossed

should be right, you will know very shortly if not. if it is it will be filling that pot in no time full of roots.

by the way does anyone have any tips to increase the survival rate of my privit , really dont wont it to die, i did do alot of chopping to the roots. at the moment its basically a block of wood in the dirt

hit it with super thrive and seasol every 10 days. you could also soak it for half a day in a seasol and super thrive solution

i gave it a water with the watering can of seasol solution after i potted it up but ill give it a dunk in 2 days or so i suppose. i think full shade will be best for a little while aswell.

definately full to part shade until new growth shows then give it more light slowly up to full sun

they are a tough tree but they can sulk aswell.

edit- soaking in seasol tomorrow for half a day wont do any harm, it will only help give the tree the necessary nutrients to push new roots.

The problem i have had with common Privet is that they will abandon the main trunk and put out a sucker from the root base thereby not allowing you to use the main base as part of the planning process for your Bonsai. My fingers are crossed for you.
