Re: Lagoestromia indica, Pest
it could be a nutrient defiency or a soil pest/problem/fungi but looking at the deformed leaves it looks like thrips but it doesnt have yellow spots which is generally a tell tale sign of thrips.
can you give us some details on what the problem is?

it could be in the system of the tree. but not sure, trimming of might work, if it grows back deformed again then it is in the system. which could be a fungi on the roots. if it is a fungi on the roots it can go through the tree quite quickly and be disasterous. if it is a root problem it can be fixed by bare rooting, chopping of damaged roots, destroy them dont throw them on a compost heap or something like that, and repot it.

hmm, im not sure mate, like i said i cant be definate if it is a fungi, viral or infested. im not sure if a systemic would work, or a contact as i dont know what is in the soil.amazonida wrote:Any medicine to treat? i recently replanted it..shoud i do it again? or wait?
or if you have noticed any bugs on or around the tree?
there are a lot of factors in this that need to be identified before a treatment can be advised, and i dont want to advise a treatment when i dont know what the problem is.
sorry.

I noticed you have a lot of open wounds there. Looks like you have been pretty busy with the pruners and the tree may have contracted an infection. That's why I always use cut paste. But hey, it may not be that. I'm curious, what have you been fertilising with and in what quantities within say, the last 3 months?
