bonsai tools

Post by LiamBlackbourn »

What tools are essential for a beginner, and where would i be able to purchase these tools?
I've just started bonsai and have just sucessfully germinated 10 amur maples, 5 wisterias and some european olives. junipers, pines and sequoia are on the way.
Tools needed for these species?
Thanks, Liam.

by the sounds of it you are growin from seed so the need of tools wont be for a while   on a serious note, if you are just beginning a good pair of secateurs, a pair of scissors, pliers to cut wire and a fork for a root rake will work.

i have recently bought a set of joshua roth tools and they are great :D i dont know why i didnt get a set years ago.

I have been at it for years & its not often i find i wish i had some tools. Mainly i use scissors & secatuers, but have also been known to use a logsplitter & axes. When the time comes my advice would be spherical knob cutters and a dremel.
